Dr Ian McIntosh grew up in Sydney and graduated in Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 1981. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds the Diploma of Obstetrics conferred by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He opened his medical practice in East Lindfield in 1986 and moved to Station Medical Clinic in September 2022 to continue full-time work in general practice.
